An Unexpected Gift

My husband gave me a great gift this weekend. It wasn't the new Kindle I have been researching, nor was it the new iphone case I have been thinking about. Instead, in the midst of a conversation we were having in the living room, about the complexities of life and parenting, he very matter-of-factly said I was beautiful. It was a gift he didn't even know he was giving to me. It isn't as if he's never said that before, but this time it reached a different part of me and was a true gift. I believed him.

Sometimes the simplest of words, spoken from the heart, can truly be a gift. It need not be eloquent, long, or "gushy".

What gift of heart and thought can you give today?
