mar·riage/ [mar-ij] –noun
|April 15, 1989|
1. a. the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc.
I don't think a dictionary can properly describe marriage. At least not mine. Today I am celebrating 22 years of marriage to the perfect husband for me. My husband is not a perfect man (nor I a perfect woman), but God truly brought me the best in my life. I waited seemingly a long time for this perfect union (I was 27 when we met), but when it came we knew. We met in November 1988 and married April 15 (he picked the day so he would remember our anniversary), 1989.
I often describe my life before marriage as being in black and white, but after marriage it burst into full color. I do not think everyone has to be married to be happy, fulfilled, or content - but for me it has been the best thing ever.
Thank you Ivan, for the best years of my life.
