I got up early this morning so I could have time to write (only two chapters to go - yeah!). Early means 5:15am, so - wouldn't you know it? As I'm checking my Facebook (gotta have priorities - right?), I get a notice that school is being delayed for two hours. I could have slept in and still had time to write!
Except, not really. During last year's NaNoWriMo I discovered that I actually do better writing early in the morning and with a time limit. That's not to say I can't write any other time, but that feeling of urgency seems to propel me into writing. I guess I've always worked better with a deadline. My husband and I have often joked that it seems like the most productive times in our lives are when we have too much to do in the time we have to do it.
So, I managed to add to my book, check my email, check Facebook, and surf the net a bit all before my daughter got up. Now she's eating breakfast and I'm blogging. Next I have to get my boys up and on their way and then I'm off to my part-time job (Kids Voting--Guilford County).
Love that full calendar!
